Founded in 2023, Refined Collective Studio is a full-service design firm located in Nanaimo, Vancouver Island, British Columbia. We are forever inspired by the clean and functional European aesthetic and rooted in a belief that every space should truly reflect the personality and lifestyle of its owner. Our perpetual goal is to create bespoke interiors that are refined, grounded and tailored completely to our clients.
We specialize in custom-built homes and commercial spaces, full-scale renovations and decorations. With us, details matter and quality is at the forefront of every undertaking.

FOUNDER & PRINCIPAL DESIGNER
Sara’s passion is infectious and she is well-known for her meticulous eye and refined aesthetic. Her extensive experience in both residential and commercial is forever evident in her high-quality results and dedication to her clients. She founded RC Studios in 2023 after almost a decade in the design industry. This year she received her National Certification for Interior Design Qualification, a professional recognition for North American designers that she holds in great esteem.
Sara and her family have called Nanaimo home for the last 7 years. She welcomed her first child in 2022 and is constantly soaking in all the joys motherhood brings. When she’s not in studio you’ll find her camping and exploring the outdoors, working on yet another crafting project, hosting dinner parties for friends or enjoying the antics of her two cats Indy and Lincoln.

a note on the NCIDQ certification.
This is the National Certification for Interior Design Qualification. It allows designers in North America to be professionally recognized in a similar manner to architects and engineers. NCIDQ Certificate holders have proven their expertise in understanding and applying current codes established to protect the public health, safety, and welfare through specific education, work experience and examinations.
The strenuous requirements of the NCIDQ Exam give clients and employers added confidence in the caliber of work from NCIDQ Certified Interior Designers. The exam covers seven areas that capture core competencies of interior design: building systems, building codes, construction standards, contract administration, professional practice and project coordination.
